SALARY SCHEDULE:  State Salary Schedule

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

·        Salary and benefits shall be paid according to system’s approved salary schedule. 

·        Length of work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

·        Employee must work 130 hours/month to be eligible for health insurance.

·        Any non-Teacher Retirement System (TRS) eligible employee will have a FICA deduction.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Valid professional certificate in appropriate grade levels for assignment issued by Georgia Professional Standards Commission

2.    Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field preferred

3.    Teacher Support and Coaching (TSC) Endorsement issued by Georgia Professional Standards Commission preferred

4.    Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience required

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience in teaching to different learning styles using different approaches. Experience in assessment practices for ongoing measurement of student progress.  Understanding of cognitive and instructional strategies in the areas of math and English language arts.  Experience in peer mentoring.  Good communication skills and a good understanding of the adult learner.

 

JOB GOAL:

To assist the system in promoting positive change, the improvement of instructional decision-

making, and the use of best practices.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

1.

Assists teachers in efficient, effective instructional decision-making through reflective practice planning.

2.

Accelerates the use of best practices in instruction to improve student achievement by modeling best practices and providing professional learning.

3.

Assists schools in clarifying goals and focus to increase student academic achievement and teacher and leader effectiveness.

4.

Assists with data analysis for student achievement.

5.

Accelerates positive change through collaborative relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

6.

Provides resources, demonstrations, including modeling of lessons, and feedback to teachers.

7.

Improves instructional decision-making and practice by facilitating Professional Learning Communities.

8.

Serves as a liaison between the schools and the Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Federal Programs to ensure clear connection between district-level curriculum and instruction and school-level implementation.

9.

Works closely with the Executive Director and School Principal to identify school improvement strategies that focus on student academic achievement, teacher and leader effectiveness, and providing low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers and principals.

10.

Coordinates site-based professional learning to support school improvement strategies.

11.

Keeps abreast of developments in instructional methodology, learning theory, curriculum trends and content.

12.

Carries out duties and acts in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established State and local School Board policies, regulations and practices.

13.

Supports school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, services and programs. 

14.

Participates in professional learning to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.

15.

Performs other tasks consistent with goals and objectives that support the vision and mission of the Evans County School System (subject to allowable tasks if position funded through Title I or Title II-A).

16.

Performs other duties as assigned (subject to allowable duties if position funded through Title I or Title II-A).

 

 

 

 

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
