TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

·        Salary and benefits shall be paid according to system’s approved salary schedule. 

·        Length of work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

·        Employee must work 130 hours/month to be eligible for health insurance.

·        Any non-Teacher Retirement System (TRS) eligible employee will have a FICA deduction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficient in the use of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals.  Ability to perform

assigned responsibilities.  Ability to work with others.  Ability to organize and prioritize. 

 

JOB GOAL:

To provide care, maintenance, sanitation, cleanliness and safety for the physical plant and grounds.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

1.

Completes assigned tasks to expectations of Supervisor.

2.

Participates in the general cleaning of the school building.

3.

Utilizes safety procedures and precautions in his/her work.

4.

Performs all tasks necessary to provide a clean building and grounds.

5.

Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, including all fixtures, faucets, drains, windows, mirrors, commodes, sinks, urinals, vents, floors, and walls daily.

6.

Cleans windows, furniture, and equipment in all assigned areas.

7.

Mops, sweeps, and vacuums hard surfaces of assigned rooms and halls.

8.

Empties and cleans trash cans in all assigned areas.

9.

Assists in maintaining an inventory of custodial supplies, tools, and materials for use in the building.

10.

Provides emergency clean-up for spills and mishaps throughout the building.

11.

Locks custodial closet and secures supplies.

12.

Assists in lifting and moving objects as required.

13.

Assists in setting up building for programs, meetings, etc. as required.

14.

Follows work schedule and attendance requirements in a regular and punctual manner.

15.

Keeps supervisor informed of potential problems or opportunities for improvement.

16.

Demonstrates initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

17.

Participates in system training opportunities.

18.

Performs other tasks consistent with goals and objectives that support the vision and mission of the Evans County School System.

19.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy Work:  Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
